Qalibaf made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zubairu Dada.
He noted that Nigeria, as a populated country in West Africa, is undoubtedly of prime importance for Iran.
He expressed satisfaction with growing ties between Iran and Nigeria over the past two or three years while noting that the level of such relations is not significant when compared to the capacities of the two countries.
The Nigerian side, for his part, said that although there are big capacities for economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Nigeria, making use of such capacities requires building mutual trust.
Dada said that good political relations between the two countries have to be used for enhancement of trade and economic ties.
